At the Drs office Jace's temp was up to 103 degrees. Our Pediatrician sent us to Children's Mercy Hospital right away to get him a work up. Thankfully Darci and Scott were able to get Cashel from me so I didn't have to try wrangle him while taking care of Jace. And a blessing was that Ross was able to meet me at the hospital which took a HUGE weight off of my shoulders.
At CMH (in the ER) they did 3 different tests, a urine test (put a catheter in to extract), a blood test, and a lumbar test (did a lumbar puncture-I hated seeing/haring this one the most). The tests came back negative, but they wanted to put them on cultures to see if some bacteria would grow over the next 2 days. So we were sent up stairs to a room.
Jace was super sleepy and just laid there content to be left alone.

We have now been here for 3 days, 2 nights and will be here for at least one more night. I can tell such a difference in his demeanor. He is happy, awake lots and kicking and punching all over the place. The cultures all came back negative-yay!- so it's viral, not bacterial. We just can't seem to keep that fever down! So here we will stay, lets pray it isn't for much longer.

It's good to hear it isn't anything serious. Hopefully that fever will go down soon and you'll all be back home. It's hard seeing those little ones in those big hospital beds.
oh that picture of you looking at him in that hospital bed is so sad! I hate seeing my kids sick and not feeling well, and can tell it is not easy for you either! I hope he gets feeling better soon!!! At least family is close to help, thank goodness!
Oh, Lindsay! How frustrating and scary! My Emily has a tendency to run crazy high viral fevers for a long time. Nothing bad ever comes of them, but they sure are horrid to live through. Her last one was last spring--8 days at 105. Then it suddenly went away and she was fine. I sure hope Jace's just goes away and leaves him feeling fine, too!
So sad to see his little tiny body in the hospital! But, so glad that Ross could meet you there (it's always so much easier for me in situations like that when Gordon can be there to help) and that your family is close by to care for the bigger kids. We'll keep you all in our prayers. I'm sure he'll be out soon, and so glad to hear he's already getting back to his normal, happy self.
